A season of growing together.

There’s something lovely about having flowers on the kitchen table. Somewhere between the breakfast dishes, the unopened post, and whatever else has landed there, a small bunch makes an ordinary day feel a little more special.

That’s a big part of why we grow.

At Wakey Wakey Flowers, we follow the garden’s lead. Our flowers change with the seasons, and so do the bouquets we gather. Colours shift, new favourites arrive, and something we’ve been waiting patiently for finally opens. There’s always a reason to take another wander through the beds.

Letting the season lead

Working with seasonal flowers means leaving a little room for surprise. A bouquet might look different from one week to the next, reflecting what’s ready and looking beautiful in the garden.

We love that variety. It keeps us looking closely at what’s growing and appreciating each flower while it’s here. Some seasons feel wonderfully abundant; others ask for a little more patience. Both are part of growing.

A few stems are enough

You don’t need a special occasion or a perfectly arranged vase to enjoy flowers at home. A few stems in a favourite jug can be enough. A single bloom beside the bed is lovely, too.

If you’re arranging your own flowers, start simply. Give the stems a fresh trim, remove any leaves that would sit below the water, and choose a clean vessel with room for them to settle naturally. Turn it as you go, try a different stem here and there, and stop when you like what you see.

Making room for small things

We began growing flowers as a way to slow down and reconnect. Bringing them indoors is a small extension of that feeling—a reason to pause while filling the kettle, notice a petal opening, or put something beautiful where you’ll see it every day.

We hope the flowers we share find their way into those ordinary moments in your home, too.
